Ok, so I’m super late for posting this but hey better late than never. I am a complete ditz when it comes to anything too technical and I transferred my blog from WordPress to Bluehost which basically took me two whole months to figure out !
Well, here I am still running…thank God !
So before the Summer, due to a lot of requests and demand, I had my 3 Day Essential Makeup workshop on May 25-26-27 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road.
I broke down the workshop to 3 Essential looks that most women are after.
The 1st Day : Natural Glam 101 May 25th
This was my “I woke up like this” makeup look. It was all about enhancing your natural beauty, understanding how to work with your skin and working with your facial bone structure. I find that especially within this region, women are under the impression that you have to mask your face in order to be beautiful. My class was about breaking those stereotypical beauty norms and learning tips and techniques to work with what you already have. I discussed various highlight and contour tips, although for this class I kept contour at a minimum.
The only downside I have with the whole Instagram thing is that, all these MUAs on Instagram make you feel and believe that you need to contour and highlight the crap outta yourself for a glam look. I won’t deny that I’m not guilty of posting such pics up myself, however, it’s mostly for display purposes more than anything. This class was about enhancing your features without having to stripe your face like a zebra.
Day 2 : Retro Red Carpet Look May 26th
I really wanted to make sure an eyeliner look was incorporated into my workshop atleast once, and this class actually had the biggest turnout.
Here, I discussed how to work with a natural palette, understanding which tools are needed to create the perfect crease cut and I went through eyeliner techniques and application. A lot of my attendees on the 1st day were asking about the whole ‘baking’ process so I also demonstrated the right way of ‘baking’ and the do’s and don’ts.
Day 3: Smoke Central May 27th
The last day was the most intense and I called it Smoke Central for a reason. This was my take on a smoky eye, and contrary to what it’s called I barely used any black eyeshadow 🙂
I went through the different eye shapes and what techniques could help make your eyes look more enhanced and defined. Here, I took the highlighting process to the next level, funny enough now it’s actually called ‘strobing’ !
I was super blessed to have some amazing sponsors this time round ! The main sponsor for my 3 Day Essential Makeup workshop was Illamasqua, but I also had Jane Iredale, Dermalogica and NYX cosmetics from Lifestyle that support us with products for the attendees to try and take home as goodie bags.
