Choose the perfect bridal makeup look

Getting ready for the big day can be quite stressful and it’s important to have the right team of people on your side glamming you up to perfection. One of the most crucial things as a bride is choosing the perfect bridal makeup look for your wedding. You want to be able to look back at your pictures and have a look that is classic and eternal.

My beautiful Armenian bride Diana was having an intimate outdoor wedding at the Jumeirah Beach hotel, and prior to the wedding date we had a trial to discuss what she wanted for the day. I tried two eye makeup looks on her, a soft brown smudged smoky eye and a classic eyeliner with a gentle crease. After much debate, Diana and her family opted for the latter.

Before I start any bridal makeup application, I prep my brides according to their skin conditions and environmental factors.

Since this was an outdoor event, and the weather in Dubai can sometimes get quite warm and humid, I used the NYX Matte Setting Spray before and after the makeup application.

My fav skincare product is the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm which I gently massage into the skin.

Eye details:

Lise Watier Cream Eyeshadow Ombre soufflé in Sunrise Peach. I was given this as a makeup gift ( I love it when friends just hand me makeup to play with) and I absolutely love the shade. It is a beautiful champagne peach and beautiful on it’s own, but I prefer setting any kind of creams with some powder product on top.

Two Stila Eye Palettes were used to complete this look: EYES ARE THE WINDOW Palette in Spirit and Mind. SPIRIT has some lovely highlight eyeshadows such as Pigalle and Barefoot which I used for the inner corners and the base of the eyelids.

Crease eyeshadows were kept matte from the MIND palette in perception, intellect and creativity.

Gel eyeliner is the Black Creme liner from Inglot, applied with the Studio 710 eyeliner brush from Bdellium tools. I have not met any eyeliner brush as precise as the 710 Bdellium eyeliner brush ! I got it from The Makeup Show in NYC and I’ve kicked myself silly for not stocking up on more of these.

Pale Yellow eye Pencil from MAC was used in the inner rims of the eyes.

I double stacked Model Rock lashes in W376 and cha Cha Cha.

Eyebrows were filled in with Medium Brown Dipbrow from Anastasia Beverly Hills and then set with the Translucent Brow gel.

Face :

For a natural semi matte finish I mixed the Estēe Lauder double wear FDT with the Marula essential oil.

Cheeks:

Contour around the face was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette in Havana with Blush in Deep throat from NARS.

Highlight around the high planes is Hourglass Ambient Lighting Trio using the London Brush Company fan brush.

Lips are Kat Von D matte lip cream in Lovesick and Lorac’s Matte lip Color in Rose outlined by MAC lip pencil in Soar.

I used the Invisible Powder from MAC to set my lovely bride’s makeup.

To choose the perfect bridal makeup look for your wedding stick to neutral shades on your eyes and keep the mauves and pinks for your cheeks and lips. Do your research before hand, and give your MUA an idea of what kind of makeup looks you’re interested in to save time and confusion.

Keep in mind that the look created on the trial will not be a 100% same on the day. I always explain to my brides that I’m visually inspired on the day as I get to see the outfit, jewelry, bouquet and even the wedding setup. So, with that in mind I tweak the makeup according to all those elements.

I hope you guys enjoyed this bridal makeup look. What are your favorite bridal makeup looks and have you had any bridal makeup disasters ?
