Getting a Clean Start with Olay

I fell in love with Olay when I first got my hands on the Olay Regenerist Night Recovery cream about 2 years back and it’s been my skincare must-have ever since. I got my hands on the Olay Regenerist Cleansing system recently and it just renewed my love for the Regenerist line.

I don’t believe that you can be a makeup junkie without being a beauty addict. Taking care of your skin , maintaining it but most of all protecting it, is absolutely necessary and the only way to truly do this is by ‘effectively’ cleansing your skin.

For those of you that think that a makeup wipe or a few cotton balls dipped in makeup remover does the trick, think again. We’re living in an environment with high levels of pollution and over-exposure to air conditioning amongst other factors. So it’s absolutely vital that you have a cleansing routine that can really get in there and get rid of all these extra elements that are impacting your skin without being aggressive on the skin’s surface.

I’ve been using the Olay Regenerist Cleansing System on myself for the past 3 weeks. My skin can be quite sensitive sometimes and it can react almost instantly when I use something new and I noticed my skin do a complete 360.

The first time I used the Olay Regenerist Cleansing system, I had taken off all my previous makeup with my Bioderma Cleansing Water so I didn’t really think that the Olay Regenerist Cleansing system would make much of a difference. I was surprisingly mistaken. The Olay Regenerist Cleansing system has 3 different speed levels, I used the softer level around my eyes and I sped it up around my T-zone area particularly around my nose and forehead. The brush head was filled with foundation that still managed to stay on the top layer of my skin even though I had previously cleansed it. It was definitely an eye opener to how ‘not so clean’ my face was. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed my skin get brighter, smoother and much more hydrated. I always follow my cleansing routine with a night cream or a night-oil. And because my skin is being cleansed and exfoliated simultaneously, it makes it easier for skincare products to really seep into my skin and work their magic.

The Olay Regenerist Cleansing system comes with one brush head, a mini cleanser and 2 AA batteries. It retails around 150AED-180AED depending on the supermarket you get it from and honestly, it’s a steal compared to the Clarisonic’s out there, that aren’t less than 700AED.

When you’re feeling super lazy, this cleansing system gets rid of all that dirt and makeup in barely a minute! The only thing that I wasn’t too pleased about is that the brush head doesn’t come with any cover or protector, so if placed incorrectly, the bristles can get bent or misshaped. But asides from that, it’s a great product that doesn’t break the bank, and does the job perfectly.
