For the rest of the world, winter jackets have flooded stores and people are embracing winter. Here, in Dubai, we’ve finally hit temperatures at 35˚ç so basically we’re experiencing Spring here ! So instead of doing a vampy winter lip post, I decided to do just the opposite ?
Here are my top 4 pink lipstick picks in various textures.
L To R:
Nyx Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sydney – I love pretty much every shade that NYX came out with for their Matte Lip Cream line, and Sydney is no exception. This is a soft baby doll pink, and it’s one of those hues that would look good on any skin tone.
Happy Skin – Shut Up & Kiss Me chubby Lip pencil in Crushing on You – I discovered this brand while I was in the Philippines through a friend that gave me a bunch of their lip colors, and I loved the packaging and the product. This is a Filipino makeup brand, and it reminds me a lot of Benefit. Anyways, coming back to the product, this chubby pencil is almost like a lip balm. The texture is super soft and creamy, and the shade is very much of what a natural lip would be. It is a soft combo of beige and pink, and has a cool undertone. It works great as a day color if you want your lips to pop subtly.
L.A Girl Lip Paint in Whimsical – This is one of my favorite makeup brands even though it’s fairly new in the industry. The lip paints are similar to the OCC lip tars, but they’re not as drying. This is a very light baby doll pink which would complement a soft smoky eye. The lip paints can be quite thick so your application has to be very minimal.
Gerard Cosmetics in Sugar Mama – I purchased a few Gerard lip glasses after seeing all the hype on instagram and I love the brand. The lipgloss has a mini mirror attached to one side and the lip gloss lights up as you open it, so there are no excuses if you need a touch up. I liked their glosses because they aren’t overly sticky, they run really smooth on the lips and the shade is a soft milky pink.
The brush is the Real Techniques Multi-task brush. I thank God for Sam & Nic for creating this line of brushes. The brushes fulfill their functions seamlessly and unlike MAC brushes, they do not shed.
Blush is Estee Lauder in #14 Plush Petal. This is actually one of my first EL blushes. I’m not too sure if it’s a limited edition but I’m so digging the ombre shade of this pink.
